The star of this bold, one of a kind ring is a Cantera opal.
Cantera opals are the Mexican equivalent to Australian Boulder opals. The opal is still in the matrix, like a window into another world. In the pictures you can see the colorplay of blue, green, and red.
I caught the opal cabochon in a fine stitched bezel knitted from antiqued copper tone wire using a crochet hook.
For contrast I chose a warm golden colored copper wire for the knitted double layer ring band. The color is very similar to pure copper, but won't tarnish. The tiny orange carnelian beads which are worked into each stitch on top, going all around, pick up the basic color of the opal.
The edge rows widen compared to the middle rows which gives the band an interesting shape, but don't make it less comfortable to wear.
The ring is 19 mm or 9 US size. It is 2 cm or 3/4 inch wide and definitely a ring that can also be worn on the middle or the index finger.
Please keep in mind that you might need a slightly bigger size in a wide ring like this compared to the size youneed in slimmer rings.
Delivery time is 3-5 working days after immediate receipt of payment.
